Spring Auction
The Spring Auction is a tremendous party for adults, an entertaining way to shop, and a wonderful way to raise money for LeConte students. In fact, the 2011 Spring Auction raised more than $28,000 for the school.
LeConte families and local businesses donate a range of fantastic items ranging from restaurant meals, entertainment, lessons, and coaching to professional services, jewelry, books, massages, gift baskets, travel, and more. Shoppers bid on items, with the highest bidder winning.
When and Where
This year's auction will be on May 20th, 2012, 5:30-9:30pm at Pizzaiolo,described by Condenast Traveler as "the best eatery yet to open in Oakland's Temescal neighborhood, which has lately emerged as the southern counterpart to North Berkeley's Gourmet Ghetto."
Donations and Bidding
Months before the auction, a committee of parents helps to solicit gifts, write donation descriptions, and set up and staff the auction. This year's auction will have an online form to donate items, an online catalog, and online ticket sales and bidding.
How to Help
Do you have a vacation home you want to donate for a weekend? Do you know a business that would like to support LeConte (with either an in kind donation or product)? Do you have kid art (always priceless), or can you host a fun dinner party for the auction? Creativity is encouraged for donation ideas. Please join in this fun and lucrative LeConte fundraising effort!
